  Take a look at this illustration. It's from a series that shows the meandering footprint of the Mississippi river. The story of a meandering river is the story for our era. All of our jobs and lives (globally) have been shifted and impacted by "digital." The river of our economies, societies and cultures is meandering. We're shifting from one familiar world to new ones. The Mississippi does this over hundreds, thousands of years. In our era this shift happens in shorter timeframes: years, months, weeks…even days. The intensity of realtime activity, especially on social channels, is akin to armies of people actively cutting new paths for the river to flow. What to do? How to succeed in this new era? That's my job. I help people, brands, and organizations understand the impact of our current era. I then help them harness the power of these shifting forces to find opportunities and drive their goals forward. Call it "digital transformation," or "communications evolution," or "social communications" they all align to the same thing. We need new systems, new frameworks and a thoughtful redirection, in order to reach our goals. The former systems (such as branding, business models or team organization) need to be reinvented. Let's get to work.
